Put simply, the Orange County Auto Show was a lot like walking across a bunch of dealership lots that had been connected... aside from, of course, getting some time inside of a Lotus Evora (just sitting, sadly) and a close look at some Tesla Roadsters. So if it was such a consumer oriented show, then why did I go? Simple, Ford was supposed to have a Fiesta driving event...that ended up being MIA. As disappointing as the lack of Fiesta was, what made the five hours of round-trip driving even more of a let-down was the "more of the same" theme of the show--the whole thing felt like a sales pitch rather than a showcase of what the automotive industry is doing (more specifically, what the American car companies are doing) to redeem themselves.
